Wayne and Scott would like to remind everyone in the congregation that after much prayer and waiting upon the Lord, we will be releasing Scott & Stephanie and several other families from Cornerstone. Scott and Stephanie sense that God is calling them to start a new church in the Moultonboro area, while Wayne believes he is called to remain at Weirs Beach. Nate and Erin sense that God has called them to Grace Capital church. There is no severing of relationship, but for some, there is a change of location and responsibilities.
While we know that there are a variety of emotions that will be experienced, we also know that the most important thing is that we are all trying to obey God and to please Him rather than ourselves. No matter where our local church meets, we will remain related to each other through Christ and on account of our history together.
Some may sense that God is calling them to go, and others may sense God is calling them to stay. We trust that each family will do their utmost to divest themselves from their own will and allow the Spirit of God to guide them.
While we have no guarantee of how all of this will eventually turn out, what matters is that we all must look to Jesus- the author and perfecter of our faith. We must keep our eyes on Him and be willing to do all He asks of us, even if it makes us uncomfortable.
It seems we are in uncharted territory here- a group of people being released from a church when there is no breach of relationship. It seems unheard of- but still we must be careful to guard our hearts and continue to walk in love toward one another. While we all may have our own opinions, our opinions are largely irrelevant. God's will is what we are after. We all know one another well enough to know that we all want to obey God, but none of us has ever been perfect. Thankfully, He is the one who upholds us. We must trust the Lord of the Church to build his church and to arrange His living stones where he wants them to be.
May Jesus Christ be honored by our conduct, individually and corporately, and by our willingness to obey.
With love to all of you
Wayne and Scott
